Main features
The EasySecure decoder is a data encryption and authentication device for read-only readers. This smart decoder converts Secure RS485 channel into plain Wiegand or Clock&Data. This decoder assures confidentiality and integrity of the communication between the reader and the system. Most access control systems provide unsecured communication links between the access control panel and the reader. Wiring is often a weak point where data can be sniffed and manipulated. To protect against is this vulnerability, STid has developed the Security Decoder to be used in conjunction with the latest generation of contactless secure readers. This module secures the communication between reader and safe zone through data encryption (AES) and authentication procedure (HMAC-SHA1). The security decoder uses RS485 serial communication with the reader for flexible and easy wiring. The decoder is transparent to the system as it provides plain data directly into the access controller in the safe area. Compatible with Secure Read-Only RS485 LXE or LXS readers, it inherits the security and communication parameters from the reader configuration.
